Champissage

Champissage , also known as Indian head massage.

Indian Head Massage is based on the traditional form of ‘champi’ which has been practiced in India for over 1000 years. Massage and pressure point work are used, working on the neck, shoulders and face as well as the scalp, with the optional use of oils. This helps to relieve tension, which commonly builds up in these areas ,balances energy and deeply calms the mind.

In traditional times, Indian women would use this kind of massage to keep their scalp healthy and ensure thick hair, as it stimulates the circulation to the scalp and provides nourishment for the hair roots.

The benefits of this massage are improved blood flow, muscle relaxation, and lowered stress levels. Patients suffering from eye strain, headaches, insomnia, lack of concentration, and lethargy, will find this method of massage quite refreshing and beneficial.

It is an extremely relaxing, promoting restful sleep and bringing a sense of stillness and calm.

Reflexology

Reflexology

The Ancient Art of Reflexology.

Reflexology is a deeply relaxing and energising holistic therapy which treats the whole person rather than just the symptoms of disease. It is based on the principle that the body is divided into ten equal and vertical zones ending in the fingers and toes. The body is often in a state of imbalance, particularly after illness, injury or periods of stress, with these vital energy pathways blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively.

The aim of reflexology is to release any blockages and restore the free flow of energy and blood circulation to the whole body. To achieve this, a specific massage technique is applied to reflex areas in the feet (and sometimes the hands) which correspond to tissues, organs and systems throughout the entire body. By using thumb and finger pressure on the reflex points of the feet, it helps assist in achieving balance with in the body. Stimulating these reflexes encourages the body to heal itself, restor and maintain natural equilibrium, as well as promoting a general sense of well being.

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical illness or emotional imbalance.
